After riding approximately 500 km, I can finally share my review of my new Winspace SLC 5 equipped with Ultegra Di2 and Hyper 5 wheels (40 mm).
The first thing you notice is simply how good the bike looks. It’s genuinely beautiful, and in the Mirage Chameleon colorway it’s especially striking. The second thing that stands out is the weight—or rather, the lack of it. With Assioma power meter pedals, in size S, my home scale shows around 7 kg. And this lightness is definitely noticeable on the road.
Climbing feels effortless, and riding out of the saddle is an absolute pleasure. I ride mostly on local roads of mixed quality—there are more potholes, cracks, and rough asphalt than smooth, freshly paved sections. And what surprised me the most is how incredibly well the bike absorbs all those imperfections. You barely feel the bumps or cracks; the rear end is exceptionally compliant and comfortable. The front end, on the other hand, is a bit stiffer, partly due to the solid handlebar setup. In short: business at the front, fun at the back.
Because of this comfort, your internal sense of speed needs serious recalibration. You look at the computer and notice you’re going 5–10 km/h faster than what the feeling suggests. At my 60 kg, the bottom bracket also feels stiff and efficient—power transfer is immediate. When accelerating, by the time you’re halfway through the pedal stroke, the bike is already surging forward.
The geometry strikes a great balance: stable, responsive, and with the shorter chainstays, it even feels playful. Build quality appears top-tier, absolutely on the level of major, well-known brands.
Cons?
The paint is a bit sensitive to scratches—it almost feels like if you look at it wrong, it’ll show a mark on the otherwise beautiful finish. Personally, I’m also not a big fan of the large, bold logo on the downtube. The brand name is written twice—once again on the fork—which I find a bit unnecessary.
Recommendation:
I fully recommend this bike to anyone looking for a true all-rounder—something you can comfortably take on a relaxed coffee ride, but also race with, and everything in between. The Winspace SLC 5 delivers on all fronts.
